Shamanism & Relationships

Rajinder Singh

In this brief opportunity, we will be looking at the Shamanic approach to relationships.

Although we may have a simple and disciplined approach to life and how we live We are complex individuals. We are a bundle of experiences and emotions that are coping with day to day activities. Each experience and the emotions associated with that experience are an energy that we have a tendency to store without even knowing.

The experiences of love, kindness, togetherness, joy, encouragement generate energy that feeds our wellbeing and positive outlook on life as well as the future. The experiences of anger, fear, selfishness, unhappiness, lack of unity however generate the opposite. Each experience creates a narrative that over time begins to repeat itself and also becomes a template for our behaviour and relationship with ourselves and others.

The role of the medicine people in the community was always to keep balance and this was done by helping everyone to be in the right relationship with themselves and their community by following in the Shamanic practices that have been passed down from generation to generation.

When an individual is in the right relationship with themselves, living in a balanced way comes naturally.
